Serendipity Books is a local, independent, curated community book shop. It’s a pretty special place.
The owner, Michelle, will help you find the perfect book. If you’d rather gather suggestions in peace, curated selections with information notes are displayed throughout the store.
Michelle loves to write short stories. Publishing credits include The Avalon Literary Review and The MacGuffin. She has an MA in Creative Writing. Michelle leads writing groups at the bookstore and is available as a freelance editor.
If not writing, you’ll see Michelle with her head stuck in a book; she reads voraciously and shares her opinions — in her still strong Yorkshire accent — with other members of the Washtenaw Reads Selection Steering Committee, The AfterHours book club, friends and customers alike.
After everything stories, Michelle’s other great love is music. There’s always some interesting music — Verdi, early choral music, Giuseppe Di Stefano, or Bessie Smith — playing out between the books.
