🎃 A Rest Stop of Kindness: Halloween at the Church Front Doors

On October 31, as trick-or-treaters flood the sidewalks with laughter and costumes, the front steps of our church will become something more than just an entryway—they’ll become a rest stop of grace.

Each year, families in our neighborhood stop by—not only for candy, but for warmth, a bite to eat, and a safe place to pause. At our Halloween Rest Stop, we offer:

• 🌭 Hot dogs, chips, and candy for hungry little superheroes and ghouls
• 💧 Water to keep everyone hydrated
• 🚻 Restrooms open to all
• 🧡 A dry, warm place to regroup—especially on rainy or chilly nights

What began as a simple act of hospitality has become one of our favorite traditions. It’s not a big production. There are no bounce houses or fog machines. Just open doors, welcoming hearts, and the kind of kindness that sticks with people long after the night ends.

This is what it means to be the church—to meet people where they are, even (and especially) in the middle of a candy-filled costume parade.

We invite you to stop by on Halloween night. It’s a joyful evening of serving with smiles, seeing adorable costumes, and reminding families that the church is here—not just for Sundays, but for everyday moments of life and love.
