FALL WATERLOO HISTORY HIKE

FALL WATERLOO HISTORY HIKE:  2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Sunday, October 19.  Have these woods always been here?  Why is there a park here anyway?  Enjoy Waterloo’s brilliant fall foliage while learning of the natural and human histories that have played roles in the evolution of Waterloo’s landscape we see today.  DNR interpreter and Master Naturalist, Doug Jackson, will lead you on a 5-mile hike from the lower parking lot through the scenic Hickory Hills trail and back.  Sturdy footwear and binoculars recommended.  Cost: $2/person or $5/family. Eddy Discovery Center, 17030 Bush Rd. in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea.  Program limited to 15 participants.  The building is closed so program will be entirely outdoors.  Please register for this program by emailing waterloonha@gmail.com with your name, phone number and number of people attending.
