From Forest to Fork: Exploring the Wonders of Mushrooms

We’re pleased to welcome Joe Schlenke as our February guest speaker. Joe is a local forager, gardener, and co-owner of Chelsea Farmers Supply. Having spent years in the food and hospitality industry, he developed a love (and minor obsession!) for eating with the seasons and learning to respectfully work with our wild areas to provide food, medicine, and fiber. Now, through Chelsea Farmers Supply, he spends his time sharing his passion for all things wild and homegrown.

During this presentation we will take a deeper look at the humble mushroom, learn about the life cycle, some different types of culinary and medicinal species, and how you can integrate them into your garden and health routine. A little bit of science, a little bit of folk wisdom, and unbelievable and surprising facts await!

This event is brought to you by the Evening Primrose Garden Club and is open to the public. Snacks & beverages provided.
