Follow the Yellow Brick Road to St. Louis Center
Open Spot Theatre Presents The Wizard of Oz
There’s no place like live theatre, especially when it’s filled with heart, courage, laughter, and the incredible talents of St. Louis Center residents.
Since 2012, Open Spot Theatre has been transforming lives through music, movement, and creative expression. Their inclusive programs are designed for people of ALL abilities, from students with developmental disabilities to seniors, creating a space where everyone can shine. Led by trained instructors who are professionals in theatre, sign language (ASL), and special education, Open Spot’s classes blend singing, acting, dancing, and sign language into unforgettable experiences.
For the past several years, Open Spot Theatre has partnered with St. Louis Center, and the results have been nothing short of inspiring. Residents have grown in confidence, developed new skills, and discovered hidden talents. Together, they’ve brought stories to life through plays, short skits, and even ASL learning, each performance more impressive than the last.
Now, they’re ready to take you somewhere over the rainbow.
This spring, Open Spot Theatre has been working with St. Louis Center residents to create a creative and heartfelt production of The Wizard of Oz. Expect familiar characters, joyful music, expressive movement, and moments that will make you smile, laugh, and maybe even tear up a little.
From Dorothy’s journey to the Land of Oz to the friendships formed along the Yellow Brick Road, this production celebrates courage, friendship, and the belief that everyone has something special to offer.
