Justice for our Neighbors
Come and hear attorney Kourtney Lovett, at 4:00 pm at Chelsea First United Methodist Church, 128 Park Street, Chelsea, on February 27, and learn more about refugees and just how daunting it is to seek asylum for immigrants.  A typical asylum application requires about 40 hours of specialized legal services from an experienced immigration attorney.  Without that representation, many asylum seekers are not successful.
Michigan benefits when our immigrant neighbors receive justice under our immigration laws. When immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers are able to fully participate in their communities—free of the fear of being separated from their loved ones or returned to dangerous conditions—they contribute a richness of cultures, traditions, and creativity that has been the backbone of American greatness for generations.
Refugee Resettlement
There are currently over 150 refugee families resettling in Washtenaw County.
The event will be livestreamed on the Chelsea First UMC YouTube channel.
