Vintage Base Ball Match – Chelsea v. Royal Oak

July 26, 2014 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Barn

Come join in the fun and cheer on the Monitor Base Ball Club of Chelsea at its third home match of 2014! The Monitors welcome the Wahoo BBC of Royal Oak to the friendly confines of Timbertown Park on Saturday, July 26th at 2:00pm. Enjoy a match of 1860-rules baseball, catching a glimpse of the beginnings of our nation’s pastime, in the form of a lively and unscripted game. No gloves, no swearing, no sliding, no spitting!

The July 26 match will also be the Monitors first ever ‘Tallies for Charity’ match, as they aim to raise some money for a different charity chosen annually. 2014’s charity is Smile Train, which provides free cleft lip & palate surgeries to children around the world.

There is no obligation to donate, however! Monitor matches are, and will always be FREE and open to the public. Bring along a blanket or some lawn chairs, as well as some refreshments. Come join your friends and neighbors to root for your local vintage base ball club!
