New to Yoga: A series for beginners and refreshers

An event every week that begins at 11:30 am on Saturday, repeating until October 5, 2019
Next session begins September 14, and runs for 4 consecutive Saturdays
Ages 12 and up
Beginning yoga can feel daunting as a new student, and often people believe that they have to be really flexible, or look a certain way in order to be successful at it. At Breathe, we support the idea that yoga really is for everybody and every body; that, ‘if you can breathe, you can do yoga’. Allow us to take those first steps with you on your yoga journey, and on the path to a healthier, happier you.
This 4 week series introduces you to the fundamentals of yoga, including the history and philosophy of yoga, breath (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana). Teaching proper alignment and modifications along the way, we build week by week, pose by pose, so that, upon completion, you will understand key terminology, have a comfortable familiarity with key postures, and feel strong and confident enough to attend any yoga class. This series also serves as a great refresher course to those returning to yoga after a significant break.
Dates: Saturdays, September 14, 21, 28, and October 5,
(4 consecutive weeks)
Where: Breathe Yoga, Chelsea, MI
Cost: $120, includes the use of rental mats and all props and a comprehensive handout. Graduating students receive great discounts on class packages and memberships and on Manduka mats. Students taking this series for a second time receive 10% off.
