It is a simple form of eco-printing where you roll flowers and other natural dyestuffs within a textile, tie it and place it above hot steam. The naturally-occurring pigments within the plants will bind to the textile and create gorgeous dyes and patterns. It is a creative and fascinating way to appreciate the beauty, color and also, the impermanence of flora. We will talk about what dyestuffs work the best, how to preserve the color as long as possible, and artistic approaches such as composition and technique. While our bandanas are steaming, we will have time for questions and answers regarding natural dyeing or, you can take a break and shop the store and chat it up with owners Tobie and Joe.
