Sounds & Sights Festival packed with Music, Food, Fun and World Record

The 35th annual Sounds & Sights Festival takes place next weekend is downtown Chelsea is July 28-30, 2011 and is sponsored by Chelsea DDA, Chelsea Milling and Chelsea State Bank.  The Festival weekend features many of the  popular attractions including a KidZone, Friday night Classic Car Show (with over 300 vehicles), Pet Parade, Social Entertainment Tent, food court and Art Market featuring artists from throughout the Midwest.  The 2011 nightly entertainment line features some of Michigan’s finest groups including the MacPodz headlining Thursday night, the SunMessengers closing Friday night, and Fifty Amp fuse ending the event on Saturday evening.  The social tent opens at 6:30 with beer and wine for sale and stays open until 11:00pm.  There is a $5.00 cover and all ages welcome.

Other activities scheduled during the event include the Chelsea Rotary Duck Race, Farmers’ Market, kid shows and craft tent, artist demonstrations, and more.  Chelsea Teddy Bear Company will attempt to break a Guiness Book World Record for a Teddy Bear Mosiac on Saturday afternoon.  More information is available at chelseafestivals.com or by calling Chelsea Center for the Arts at 734-433-2787.
