An Introduction to Woody Plants: Winter Identification

Saturday, Mar 25, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

| $15

Learn the basics of identifying woody plants like trees, shrubs, and vines in winter condition. Although most of these plants lose their leaves each fall, this course will demonstrate that “stripped to their bones”, woody plants do in fact provide many key features that can be used for proper identification. Bark, buds, and branching will all covered. Attendees only need to bring their curiosity; Robin Hills Farm will supply the hand lens and a wide variety of habitats and woody plants for study.

Led by Mike Penskar of the U of M Herbarium. Tuition is $15 per person, or $25 per family.
