Ecology Series: Birding 101, Session 2
Saturday, Oct 14, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm$15
As part of our Ecology Series of educational nature hikes, Robin Hills Farm will host monthly birding walks for all ages and experience levels, with avid birder and Washtenaw Audubon Society board member Jessica Adamczyk. These two-hour walks will follow a leisurely pace around the many rich habitat zones of the farm, with a focus on learning both visual and auditory identification skills. Participants should bring water, appropriate footwear and attire for the outdoors. RHF will supply binoculars to anyone who does not bring their own.
In October, populations of migrating warblers and other songbirds are at their peak, en route to their winter homes further south. In addition to providing tips and tricks for identification, Jessica will discuss the adaptive reasons behind the behaviors the class observes in bird populations around the RHF site.
