Ballet Chelsea and the Jackson Symphony present
Ballet Chelsea is thrilled to present its 20th-anniversary performance of The Nutcracker in December. Adding to the excitement is Ballet Chelsea’s collaboration with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. This event, bringing music and dance together for three performances to Jackson and Washtenaw Counties, will spark energy and excitement while raising the visibility of the arts in both communities.
Combining the talents of Matthew Aubin, Music Director of the JSO, and Wendi DuBois, Artistic Director of Ballet Chelsea, two cultural leaders in southern Michigan, will offer an unforgettable presentation of this holiday classic. Both organizations have a history of delivering outstanding artistic performances, and this unique partnership will enchant audiences of all ages.
Ballet Chelsea’s Nutcracker, an exceptional, full-length, narrated production, will feature new sets and costumes for this 20th-anniversary production. Performances will take place December 8th at Jackson’s Potter Center and December 9th and 10th at Chelsea High School.
Both organizations draw broad audiences from all over southern Michigan, and the joint production features participants from many mid-Michigan communities. This family-friendly experience, combining the beauty of ballet and the thrill of live orchestral music, will prove to be very popular.
