Sandhill Crane Vineyards and Phyllis Haehnle Sanctuary celebration of the the annual sandhill crane migration. The vineyard will be open all day for tastings and cheer and stay open late for crane watchers. There will be a special preview of the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon for tasting and purchase. There will also be mulled wine available to snuff out any fall chills.
Haehnle Sanctuary Crane Tours
9066 Seymour Road, Pleasant Lake, MI
The Haehnle Sanctuary will lead a crane a driving tour starting at 4:00pm that will take you through area fields so you can see Sandhill Cranes up close and personal. The tour will start from the sanctuary parking lot on Seymour Rd.
For two hours before the sunsets we expect there will be 5000 – 6000 Sandhill Cranes gather during the 2012 migration season at the Sanctuary.
This year is already reporting high numbers of Cranes migrating outpacing the 2012 record! The 2012 crane count is currently near 2,ooo cranes and climbing. Take a look at the crane count page for current numbers.
