Ballet Chelsea presents The Nutcracker on December 5-6, 2015

Chelsea, Mich. – Ballet Chelsea will present its 18th annual The Nutcracker performance on December 5th & 6th during Chelsea’s Hometown Holiday weekend. The ballet will be performed Saturday, December 5th at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday, December 6 at 2pm. This family favorite is a full-length, narrated ballet, choreographed by Ballet Chelsea Artistic Director, Wendi DuBois. For the young and young at heart, a special Sugar Plum Tea is scheduled on Sunday, December 6th at 12:30 p.m before the Sunday matinee.

Nearly 70 accomplished Ballet Chelsea Company members and guests from Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, Grass Lake, Jackson, Manchester, Marshall, Pinckney, Stockbridge and Ypsilanti will delight audiences as they bring this classic story to life. Enriched by stunning costumes, elaborate sets, and live pyrotechnics, Ballet Chelsea’s production has become a regional holiday tradition.

The Nutcracker will be performed at Chelsea High School Performing Arts Complex located at 740 N. Freer Road in Chelsea, Michigan. The Sugar Plum Tea is a festive event at 12:30 p.m., before the Sunday matinee performance of The Nutcracker. Guests are invited to dress for the occasion and bring their young guests to this delightful addition to their The Nutcracker tradition. Tickets are $12 and available online and in person at the Ballet Chelsea Studios.
